An adventure that will foster your creativity
A way to capture the best scenes, street lighting, architecture and monuments to photograph at night
During the tour a professional photographer will be giving tips and advice on the equipment, camera settings and how to create interesting images. Meanwhile our guides also know the Barcelona’s most stunning locations at these hours and the exact places where you can take a photograph.
Our photography tours are designed to spark your passion for photography and to enjoy the moment of taking photographs as much as you can enjoy later while viewing the work done. Our tours become adventures where we try to get off the beaten track, leaving also a space for exchanging ideas and for the unexpected that will make us exercise what we’ve learned, while finding a style of our own.
“People fall in love with Night photography and this is a must if you are visiting a new city”
Monuments, attractions, plazas and old medieval buildings have a different look at night. The crowd of tourists following a guide disappears and we have the city for our own while enjoying a relaxed walk at cooler temperatures. At night we can get amazing photos playing with light and colors. Such amazing attractions as the Gaudi buildings or the medieval old quarter are even more magical at night.
The only problem is that you will need the right settings to get the proper exposure and the best quality of image otherwise you can lose the whole night trying to get an image or you can take photos that appear to be fine in your camera screen but not so good when downloaded to your computer.
Our guide can take you to the right places and give you some tips to maximize your time and experience. We will exchange ideas on how we can create images that will stand out from the rest. The night photography tour is designed to capture the street lighting and light on monuments and buildings with a tripod. We can bring a tripod with for you if you don’t plan on bringing one. We are convinced that this may be the highlight of your trip to Barcelona.
Night Photography Circuit
Meeting point: We will meet in front of the Hard Rock Café in Plaza Catalunya.
Ramblas, Boqueria Market and the Gothic quarter:
We would start the Night photography tour by Plaza Catalunya making our first shots and exercises and heading down the Ramblas to visit the Boqueria market. This market offers a great possibility to practice with different camera techniques in low light and settings to capture colors, interesting compositions and artificial lighting. The market is good place for taking combined images of products and environmental portraits that result in great compositions.
The Barcelona’s famous Gothic Quarter is our next stop, a great area to photograph the narrow dark alleyways and visit Gothic churches, charming plazas where we’ll exercise with light and water at old fountains, the light of old stores opened to ancient streets and monumental medieval buildings.
The Magic Fountain:
We will take the metro to arrive at the magic fountain located at Plaza España, a must if you are visiting Barcelona. This is the perfect place for a night photography tour in Barcelona if you want to include a stunning fountain with a beautiful panoramic of the city as the perfect background. This view at night from the Pl. d’Espanya, when the Av. Reina Maria Cristina, the Magic Fountain and the Palau Nacional are lit up offering a remarkable show of light, water and music has became an iconic image of the city. There we will experiment with different angles and camera settings to capture the effects of water and artificial light at high and slow speed shutter settings.
From here we will return to the city with the option to stop at a local tapas bar for a snack while exchanging the basics of the technical aspects for night photography. We will then continue on to the Eixample, mainly to get the Casa Batllo light up at night. From here, we will end the tour giving you indications to go back to your hotel or escorting you if necessary.
